what to expect each day

13 Apr - Kathmandu

Arrive in Kathmandu. You'll be met at the airport by a representative from Himalayan Wonders and taken to the hotel in the heart of the city to meet the group and get briefed on the next 15 days!

14 Apr - Kathmandu To Lukla Flight (Start Trek)

Rise early to catch a short flight to Lukla airport, before making your way to Phakding where you will spend the night acclimatizing.

15 Apr - Phakding To Namche Bazaar

A slow, steady and fairly challenging trek upwards today leads to the bustling town of Namche Bazaar. On the way you will cross the famous Hillary suspension bridge and be rewarded with your first glimpse of Everest.

16 Apr - Namche Bazaar

Spend today surrounded by a hub of activity, but not before a 2 hour hike to Everest View Point - an important task to ensure you acclimatize properly. Don't worry, you'll also have plenty of time to rest, grab any last minute bits and bobs that you may need from the surrounding shops and also have a hot shower if you like. Oh the luxury.

17 Apr - Namche Bazaar To Tengboche

Today's trek toward Tengboche Monastery takes you past some key highlights in the Himalayas such as Nuptse, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, Thamserku and Kwangde. The monastery itself is considered one of the most beautiful monasteries in the Khumbu region.

18 Apr - Tengboche To Dingboche

A walk through a beautiful rhododendron forest to Deboche, is followed by views from a suspension bridge over the stunning Imja Khol River. Enjoy lunch with the locals before heading to Dingboche for some well-earned rest.

19 Apr - Dingboche

Today is for rest and acclimatization. Start early with short hike upwards, before settling in the tea house or surrounding village for the afternoon. There's a great bakery in the village where you can battle for the title of 'High Altitude Uno Champion' over a hot chocolate and some cake.

20 Apr - Dingboche To Lobuche

Today is a day for reflection as you head upwards and past the memorial stupas dedicated to those who have lost their lives on the mountain. Settling in Lobuche, prepare for a cold night at nearly 3 miles above sea level!

21 Apr - Lobuche To Gorakshep And Everest Base Camp, Ebc To Gorakshep

Today is the day! Set off early to Gorakshep, where you break for lunch before heading to Everest Base Camp. The atmosphere is amazing as you walk alongside other trekkers and expeditions making their way to to the base of the world's highest mountain, from where many will be attempting to summit. There's a real sense of achievement on this day as you get sight of the famous Khumbu Icefall and yellow tents of explorers at Base Camp. You're now 8,848 meters high, the air is thin and the views are incredible, with a real sense of team work and collective joy to have made it here together.

22 Apr - Gorakshep To Kalapathar And Pheriche

After spending the night in Gorakshep, you can choose to rise early to watch the sunset over Everest from Kalapathar or if you prefer a little sleep, that's also ok too! From there, you start your 3 day descent back to Lukla, with the first stop taking you through the valleys that lead to Pheriche.

23 Apr - Pheriche To Namche Bazaar

Arrive in Namche Bazaar by late afternoon. The great thing about the descent is the sense of achievement that comes with it and, therefore, even greater appreciation for your surroundings. As you spend these few days descending through the mountains you'll soak up all they have to offer and be thankful for the amazing journey they've given you.

24 Apr - Namche To Phakding And Lukla (Last Day Of Trekking)

It's a long day of walking today to get back to Lukla where you'll be rewarded with a fairwell dinner with your guides and porters, as well as another shower! It's likely you will arrive alongside other groups that you've seen along the way, so this is a great time to exchange numbers, emails and details for photo sharing as well as say your goodbyes.

25 Apr - Lukla To Kathmandu Flight

Hop on the flight back to Kathmandu and be sure to sit on the right hand side of the plane to get the best views of the Himalayas! Once back in the city you'll be taken to your hotel and can relax as you wish (but a top tip would be to book yourself in for a massage, facial and pedicure at one of the fantastic local spas).

Meet your group in the evening for a final farewell dinner.

26 Apr - Kathmandu: Free Day

Take the time to explore the city at your own pace or speak to us about day trips and tours, which we'll be happy to arrange.

27 Apr - Kathmandu: Depart

For now, it's time to say goodbye to this beautiful country and the people you have met along the way. Let us know when you need to leave and we'll arrange for transport to the airport with a Himalayan Wonders driver.
